About Me – Jennifer Tzoumas, PhD

Therapy is personal. So is the person you choose to walk through it with.

If you were choosing a surgeon, you’d probably focus on technical skill — not small talk. But therapy? That’s different. You’re not just looking for a set of tools. You’re looking for someone who can help you use them, with trust, care, and maybe even a little humor along the way.

You’ll be sharing stories that matter. Some may be heavy. Others tangled or tender. And that’s why the connection you have with your therapist isn’t just important — it’s essential.

I offer a space where professionalism meets approachability.
Yes, I bring 20+ years of training, clinical experience, and evidence-based approaches. But I also bring my full, human self into the room — including my curiosity, honesty, and light-heartedness when it helps

You won’t be alone in the work — we’ll figure it out together.
And if I’m not the right fit? I’ll help you find someone who is. That’s part of the work too

What I Help With

Over the years, I’ve supported people facing a wide range of challenges. Some are navigating everyday stress. Others are deep in grief, illness, or a major life pivot. Here are just a few areas I commonly work with:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Depression and low motivation

  • Parenting struggles

  • Relationship issues, breakups, and disconnection

  • Grief and loss

  • Chronic illness and pain

  • Women’s health (fertility, postpartum, menopause, and more)

  • Life transitions (college, marriage, divorce, retirement)

  • Issues of aging and caregiving

  • Psychological testing and evaluations

  • Bariatric surgery clearance evaluations

Not sure if your concern “qualifies”? It does. If it’s impacting your life, it’s worth talking about.

My Background

I grew up in Waco, TX, and earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University. I completed my clinical internship at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, NY.

Since 2001, I’ve worked in private practice, helping adults navigate life with more clarity and self-compassion. In 2018, I founded Creative Solutions Behavioral Health to expand access to care — including secure, teletherapy services across PSYPACT states.

I’m licensed in Texas and Pennsylvania and hold APIT certification, allowing me to see clients in over 30 states. Click HERE to see if your state recognizes my license.

A Little More About Me

I’ve been married for 28 years and have two daughters, and a mini-golden-doodle, who keep life moving and meaningful. I’m a bit of an introvert who loves quiet conversations, good books, and time outdoors. I lift weights for stress relief and dig in the garden for perspective. I’ve dabbled in a bit of background acting and do voiceover work as well. Faith is a grounding part of my life, and I’m happy to integrate spiritual concerns into therapy when that’s important to you

Currently only accepting clients to wait-list for teletherapy appointments.
